E-buses conquer Tyrol

Tyrol focusses on green mobility.

After the southern Weinviertel region and Vorarlberg, Tyrol has also recently started focussing on alternative drives and green mobility in regional bus transport. Postbus has now put the first three e-buses on the road on behalf of Verkehrsverbund Tirol, revolutionising local public transport. The buses are travelling on routes 240, 220 and 221.

One bus runs all year round on route 240 from Landeck to Fliess. The other two e-buses are used flexibly: in winter they operate on route 220 from Landeck to Serfaus and in summer they are used as hiking buses on route 221.

The colourful buses replace three diesel buses and cover an impressive total annual mileage of 167,000 km. With quiet engines and zero emissions, the new e-buses are not only a benefit for the environment, but also for the quality of life of Tyroleans.

A bus enthusiast accompanied the bus on its first trip with a camera - take a look at the video.
